GENERAL QUESTIONS ON ALL LISTINGS:
- How much does this COST?
To list an item in the "TRADE" (barter) or "FREE" section the lisitng is free.
We only charge to list items or services for SALE, or that are WANTED TO BUY.The fee per listing is $2.35. There is a link at the bottom of the page that will take you to the PayPal site. PayPal takes credit cards and an option to debit your checking acount directly too. Very flexible and it is also safe and secure.I have used PayPal for years for personal use and have never had any problems with any transaction. I love the ease of use after your account has been set up. Also, you may consider this an option when selling your own items.
- How long does a listing run?
A listing will run a month from the start date. You can contact Admin at freeselltrade@comcast.net to cancel the listing at any time during that period. Please provide the listing info and contact email.
However, there will not be a refund issued for the remaining time if cancelled early.
- How do I CREATE a LISTING?
Click on the link "Place a Listing" on the menu to the left. This will take you to a page that will give you options to select from. All listings are screened first, to determine if all the information is there and correct and for objectionable material, before they are placed on the site.
- Who do I sell or offer my items or services too?
This is up to you. If you would like to sell or offer your services locally please state that in your listing. In the "Place a Listing" form there is a drop down menu that will allow you to select areas you would like to service. If you would like to sell nationally or internationally then there is a link provided to the USPS and UPS to determine shipping costs and options.
- What do I INCLUDE in a LISTING?
For HELP OFFERED: include the EXACT service that is being provided. List all licenses, experience, and or education that may be relevant to the listing. Be specific so confusion or misunderstanding will not arise later. Don't forget to include the price you charge or you may include the money equivalent required for the service you are providing if you are bartering. Include the date you would prefer to start the listing and your contact information (e-mail and/or phone #).
For HELP WANTED: include the specific task, job, or service that you need help with. The more concise you are the less confusion and misunderstanding between parties. You may also want to list how much the money equivalent you are willing to barter for or willing to pay. Include the date you would prefer to have listing filled and your contact information (e-mail and/or phone #).
For an ITEMS OFFERED or WANTED: include the specific item or goods that you are in need of or are offering. The more detail you provide in the description the less confusion and misunderstanding there will be. The items can be USED or NEW-but this needs to be plainly stated. Please include how much you are listing it for or the equivalent for bartering. We encourage you to send us (attached to an email with your contact info) a picture of the item. Include the date you would prefer to have listing filled and your contact information (e-mail and/or phone #).
How To Respond to a Listing Be brief, polite, and specific so confusion or misunderstanding will not arise later. If applicable (for labor, skills), state all of your licenses, experience, and or education, and fees that may be relevant to the listing to make it more helpful to the listee in making a selection, especially if they receive more than one response.
- What is NOT ALLOWED for Listing.
You will not provide any false, misleading, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, obscene, profane, offensive, sexually oriented, threatening, harassing, racially offensive, or illegal material, or any material that infringes or violates another party's rights (including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights, and rights of privacy and publicity). You will not provide inaccurate, misleading or false information to FreeSellTrade.com or to any other user in association with FreeSellTrade.com. Doing so will result in the removal of your listing, and denial of future listings. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, at our discretion.
- What is ALLOWED to List.
You may offer any service that you are capable of doing in a professional manner. You can offer your labor, training, educational, or professional skills, including any supplies or items needed for the service.
Any item, product, or goods can be listed within the guidelines (mentioned above) of FreeSellTrade.com. Items can be USED as well as NEW. However, this needs to be plainly stated in the listing.
We encourage artists and craftspeople to submit their goods for sale. Remember, we accept laborers and people with skills, who want to market their services also. ONE (1) ITEM or ONE (1) SERVICE per listing is allowed.
If, for example, you make tote bags, you can list "tote bags" as a whole or one specific tote bag at a time. We encourage you to attach a photo (.jpg, .gif, or .png format) of your featured item. We will do our best to include the photos that are submitted. Limit one (1) photo per listing. Additional photos can be added for a fee of $.25 per photo.
GENERAL QUESTIONS ON BARTERING (trade and exchange):
- How does it work?
In the FreeSellTrade.com "TRADE" area, people provide services or offer items and goods in exchange for other items, or services.
FreeSellTrade.com will list (good for a ONE MONTH listing) one item or one service at a time per listing. The listee needs to provide an e-mail address and/or phone number (if they choose to do so) for contact.
The listee may receive more than one response to a needed service, in this case the decision will be up to the listee which one they will use.
- Do we have to declare the income to the IRS?
In the United States, it is generally not possible to avoid income taxes by bartering one's services or merchandise. According to the IRS, "The fair market value of goods and services exchanged must be included in the income of both parties."[1] The barter in many cases must be reported on Form 1099-B and Schedule C.

You may not misrepresent the nature or quality of the subject matter of your proposed or performed transactions. If information provided to FreeSellTrade.com, or another user of this site, subsequently becomes inaccurate, misleading or false, you will promptly update your lisitng. Any false, misleading, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, obscene, profane, offensive, sexually oriented, threatening, harassing, racially offensive, or illegal material, or any material that infringes or violates another party's rights (including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights, and rights of privacy and publicity). - Liability
We will NOT be liable for any of the services or items stated on the site or provided by listees. This is a contract between service provider and the person needing the service. We act only as a clearinghouse for listing services and items needed and services and items offered.
